Botnet
A Botnet, short for “robot network,” is a collection of internet-connected devices, including PCs, servers, mobile devices, or IoT devices, that have been infected and controlled by malware. Without the owners’ knowledge, these compromised devices are used by attackers to launch widespread cyberattacks, such as Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, spam campaigns, or cryptocurrency mining. Botnets represent a significant threat to internet security, highlighting the importance of maintaining updated security software, practicing safe browsing habits, and being cautious of suspicious emails or downloads.
