File Transfer Protocol (FTP)

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer files from one host to another over a TCP-based network, such as the Internet. FTP is used to upload files from a client to a server, download files from a server to a client, and manage files on a server. FTP can be secured with SSL/TLS, known as FTPS, or used in conjunction with SSH, known as SFTP, to encrypt data transfers.
