Malicious Software (Malware)
Malicious Software, commonly known as Malware, refers to any software intentionally designed to cause damage to a computer, server, client, or computer network. Malware includes various types of harmful software, such as viruses, worms, trojan horses, ransomware, spyware, adware, and more. It can perform a range of destructive tasks, from stealing, encrypting, or deleting sensitive data, altering or hijacking core computing functions, to monitoring users’ computer activity without their permission.
