Network Sniffer

A Network Sniffer is a software or hardware tool that captures packets being transmitted over a network. Sniffers are used for network troubleshooting, analysis, software and protocol development, and educational purposes. However, in the hands of malicious users, sniffers can be used to eavesdrop on network traffic, steal data, passwords, and other sensitive information. The use of encryption, such as HTTPS, makes it more difficult for sniffers to intercept and decipher the data being transmitted.
