Pharming Attack
Pharming is a cyberattack intended to redirect a website’s traffic to another, fraudulent site without the user’s consent, often for the purpose of phishing or malware distribution. Unlike phishing, which relies on user interaction (clicking on a fraudulent link), pharming can be conducted by exploiting vulnerabilities in the DNS system or by infecting a user’s computer with malware that alters local DNS settings. Users are advised to check for HTTPS and the correct URL to mitigate the risk of pharming.
